County of Riverside (COR) Learning Online Usage Agreement
COR Learning Online is an online learning portal offered by Human Resources, County of Riverside Learning Center, to provide you with resources necessary to meet some of the legally required and Board mandated training requirements as well as elective courses to develop your individual professional strengths. Courses, videos and other resources are available 24/7 from your computer or mobile device. Before taking courses that are not mandated, not required, and not assigned by your Supervisor, elective courses, during your normal working hours, you should reach an understanding with your supervisor on which courses, if any, you are authorized to access during work time and which you will need to access on your own time.
Non-Exempt Regular Employees
If a course is required by your organization for your job position or if your supervisor has specifically assigned you to take a course, you must complete the course during your normal working hours at such times as are convenient for your organization and approved by your supervisor. You will be compensated for taking required or assigned courses during your normal working hours. In order to receive compensation for taking these courses outside of your normal working hours, you will need your supervisor's prior authorization to complete the course and your department’s authorization for any applicable overtime to receive compensation.
If COR Learning Online courses are not required by your organization or have not been specifically assigned by your supervisor, you should talk with your supervisor about whether you can access COR Learning Online elective courses during normal working hours. If your supervisor has given you prior authorization to access an elective COR Learning Online course during your normal working hours, you will receive compensation for time spent taking the course. Compensation is not provided for elective courses taken outside of normal working hours unless your supervisor has given you prior authorization to take the course and a specific authorization to receive any applicable overtime compensation.
Prior to registering for access to COR Learning Online, you and your supervisor should reach an understanding about whether and to what extent you are authorized to access COR Learning Online courses during your normal working hours.
As an exempt employee, you may access any required or assigned course during your normal work hours at such times as are convenient for your organization and approved by your supervisor.
You may also access required or assigned courses outside of your normal working hours if that is more convenient for you. Because you are an exempt employee, no extra compensation is provided for time spent taking required, assigned, or elective COR Learning Online courses outside of your normal working hours.
