Welcome to our Apprenticeship Program webpage!

We are excited to offer the opportunity for individuals to learn and grow under the guidance and leadership of our program mentors. Our Apprenticeship Program is designed to provide a hands-on-learning experience and training in a variety of fields, from information technology to healthcare to industrial technology. We believe that by investing in the development of our apprentices, we are not only building a strong foundation for their future careers, but also strengthening our own organization by shaping tomorrow's leaders. Our goal is to provide a supportive and challenging environment where apprentices can develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence. We look forward to welcoming you to our team!

Overview

Summary of Apprenticeship Program mission + LAUNCH details

  • The primary purpose of the Apprenticeship Program is to offer temporary on-the-job training opportunities throughout County Departments in a variety of occupational areas, while simultaneously developing quality internal candidates. The Apprenticeship Program is an effective tool for broadening individuals’ existing knowledge, skills, and abilities to be competitive candidates for regular County careers and provide them with opportunities for upward career mobility and longevity, while continuing their service to the public.

  • An apprentice is a person at least sixteen (16) years of age, who has met the requirements for selection under the selection procedures of the County of Riverside, who is engaged in learning a designated craft or trade, and who has entered into a written apprentice agreement under the provisions provided by the Department of Industrial Relations Division of Apprenticeship Standards. There are two apprentice positions available for applicants: apprentice and veteran apprentice

  • All apprentices must satisfactorily perform work and learning assignments both on the job and in related instruction and shall comply with all rules, regulations, and decisions of the apprenticeship program.

  • Our county apprentices will go through LAUNCH, an apprenticeship network founded in 2018 in the Inland Empire. LAUNCH acts as an intermediary and education provider for businesses adopting the apprenticeship model. Essentially, LAUNCH makes apprenticeship easy and effective for Inland Empire businesses and career-builders.
